PCG Cares: California Wildfires

It is no secret that the California wildfires are the most destructive wildfires in history.  Camp Fire in Northern California, near the Sacramento area, has been only 65% contained after consuming some 150,000 acres alone.  As of Sunday, November 18, there have been 77 fatalities confirmed and 12,794 structures destroyed (including at least 9,700 single family homes and 118 apartment buildings), due to Camp Fire.  Unfortunately, these numbers keep growing.

In less than a month, PCG staff raised $36,984 to support wildfire victims across the state of CA.  The generous donations are helping to treat victims and provide shelter and supplies for those in need of basic necessities.  The donations, made to seven organizations such as American Red Cross and United Way of Northern California, are also helping individuals who are currently still fighting the fires. As the fires continue, PCGers are purchasing specific items to be sent directly to PCG's Sacramento, CA office, so that a team of volunteers can deliver the donations.  PCG has already kicked the efforts off with a purchase of $10,000 in gift cards and supplies.

In the first four months of PCG's 2019 Fiscal Year, alongside donations, employees have volunteered 1,121 hours, amounting to over 28 weeks (40 hrs/week) of community service, at a plethora of different organizations across the country.  Thank you to everyone who continues to support this important effort.
