UI Supports the Virginia Algebra Readiness Initiative

Do you know about the Virginia Algebra Readiness Initiative (ARI)?  In grades 6-9, the ARI provides mathematics intercession services and support to students at risk of failing their end-of-the-year Algebra I test. Their individual performance level is determined by a Virginia Department of Education approved diagnostic test and helps decide if each student needs targeted daytime interventions. Some districts now use their own measure.

UI is proud to fully support the Virginia ARI.  For example, we have been a partner with Virginia Beach City Public Schools (VBCPS) for almost a decade, helping to raise achievement in mathematics through our Algebra Readiness programs, which utilizes our TutorEd™ daytime interventions.

Student pre-and-post test scores and teacher input on student improvement reveal that the UI/VBCPS partnership produces stronger math students that are prepared to meet the rigor of the algebra curriculum within VBCPS and the demands of year end testing.  Principals can target key populations and tutoring schedules that work within their framework.  We are honored to work alongside VBCPS and many other school districts throughout the Commonwealth to help support the Virginia ARI.
