PCG Education was proud to participate in the 10th Annual Hootie & the Blowfish Homegrown Roundup: Back to School Basics in Charleston, SC. This annual program provides more than 1,600 children in the Charleston County School District with school supplies and other services necessary to be successful during the upcoming school year. The Roundup provides haircuts, dental exams, eye exams, backpacks, shoes, uniforms, and basic school supplies. This year PCG staff Etta Holmes and Donna Worrell were on hand to distribute backpacks, rulers, highlighters, crayons, notebooks, pencils, and erasers.
Lisa Craig, program director of marketing and communications for PCG Education’s Educational Partnerships Team, said, “We are proud to continue supporting this amazing event for a fourth year. Our longstanding partnership with CCSD, their staff, and their students is incredible.”
Hootie & the Blowfish, made up of Mark Bryan, Dean Felber, Darius Rucker, and Jim “Soni” Sonefield, are one of the most successful music groups of all time with more than 25 million albums world-wide. The band believes they have a responsibility to use their celebrity status to help improve the lives of those in need, especially children.
